After a friend dies of AIDS, an urban teenager and her single mother are confronted by the need to become more assertive about safer sex. After a heated discussion, Aiysha heeds her mother’s advice for taking precautions. She talks to her boyfriend about their past sexual experiences and about using condoms. Aiysha’s mother, however, finds it difficult to follow her own advice and struggles for a way to discuss the issue of condoms with her partner.
